On May 18th, 2009 in Los Angeles, Konvict Muzik rap artist, Dolla, was shot and killed when a bullet wound pierced his heart at a Beverly Hills valet parking and Auto Detailing lounge area. The murder trial to determine the fate of his alleged killer began on Tuesday, according to MSNBC. 24-year-old Aubrey Louis Berry was initially detained at the Los Angeles International Airport and he has pled not guilty on two charges of assault with a deadly weapon and one count of murder.
Authorities have revealed that the killing resulted from a feud that Berry and Dolla, whose legal name was Roderick Anthony Burton II, had been involved in during the two weeks prior to Burton’s death in mid-May. They engaged in a physical altercation at an Atlanta based strip club two weeks before the killing took place, and prosecuting attorney Robert Grace clarified that the defendant fired eight shots at Burton and the two friends who were with him.
