Michael Paul Lucking was being held without bond in the DeKalb County jail late Saturday, two days after his arrest, according to jail records. He is expected to be extradited back to Texas.
Police in Dallas said Lucking shot his girlfriend in the head during an argument and then dragged her body into a bathtub, The Dallas Morning News reported. Lucking then allegedly drove to DeKalb County, where he told his wife what he had done. Lucking’s wife then called police.
Dallas police officers found Melissa Ann Affatato, 26, dead in a bathtub of the apartment, according to the report. Inside the apartment, investigators found hundreds of rounds of ammunition and several guns, including the suspected murder weapon, believed to belong to Lucking.
Investigators believe Lucking and Affatato met at an Atlanta strip club, where Affatato previously worked.
