Atlanta Strip Clubs: PushPush’s "Slow Down Atlanta" makes live debut in October

… Slow Down Atlanta,” a long-gestating, locally-produced, six-part situation comedy, will emerge at PushPush Theater in October. The title sounds like a safe driving campaign, but the show in fact depicts a group of squabbling, unmotivated thirtysomethings who form the company “Partners Paranormal” to investigate supernatural phenomena for beer money. I sat in on one of “Slow Down Atlanta’s” readings a few months ago, and it had a vibe closer to “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” or an Adult Swim show than Ghostbusters. PushPush will stage the pilot episode, “Gaydar,” from Oct. 20-31, with local actors Amber Nash, Daniel May, Lake Roberts, Shelby Hofer, George Faughnan and Theroun Patterson. According to the press release:
The themes of the six episodes range from internet gaming, marriage, strippers, immigrant culture, and modern racism, sexism, and homophobia. Formative years full of movie and comic book education, coupled with rampant ADHD characteristics, and a lack of any discernible skills, leave the “partners” facing repeated issues in each episode.
