To promote COPA‘s “Jumpin’ Jubilee” project, the artist plans to drive the first shrimp sculpture to U.S. Rep. Jo Bonner’s office in Washington, D.C.
Larsen also is constructing an archway entrance in Decatur. The shape will come from “biomorphic trees and roots growing out of boulders, meeting at a sign at the top center,” he said. “I did a one-day shoot in a cave on the movie ‘The One Warrior’ in Russellville, Ala., where we filmed a monster I made.”
“Crazy times for a crazy artist!” said Larsen.
Joe Jefferson Players was unable to secure rights to the musical “Fiddler on the Roof,” so the 2010-11 season will have a slightly different look. JJP will open with the Americanized stage adaptation of “The Full Monty,” based on the 1997 movie about a group of unemployed, working-class Brits who become male strippers.
