Shortly after 7:40 a.m. Saturday, DeKalb County police Sgt. G.K. Barnes responded to Memorial Drive and Rocbridge Road regarding a two-vehicle collision.
The officer asked Mr. Lindsey for his driver’s license and twice Mr. Lindsey flashed his Doraville police badge, according to a police report.
Another officer, who arrived on the scene a short time later, said Mr. Lindsey appeared to be drunk and smelled of alcohol.
The off-duty officer also allegedly had glassy and watery eyes, the report said.
Mr. Lindsey told the officer he had been drinking at a Doraville strip club and that he fell asleep while driving and hit the other vehicle, according to the report.
