3. Art Schlichter, Suspended: Lifetime Ban Former Indianapolis Colts quarterback Art Schlichter entered the NFL with known gambling issues from his day at Ohio State. That did not dissuade the Colts from selecting Schlichter fourth overall in the 1982 Draft. He lost upwards of $700,000 during the 1982 strike-shortened season and over a $1 million more over the next following seasons. He was suspended for one year in 1983 and was later released from contracts of the next two years. In 1987, former commission Pete Rozelle refused his return to the league and banned Schlichter for life.
2. Adam Jones
Pacman Jones turned a Las Vegas strip club into the Wild West, played a role in the violent shooting of a bouncer, and as a result was suspended for the entire 2007 season. Jones was the first player since Hornung and Karras to be suspended for an entire season for a non-drug related offense.
