Atlanta Strip Clubs: Athletes’ troubles test fans’ patience

Their sins haven’t all been the same in seriousness. Their punishments, in both the courts of law and public opinion, haven’t been equal. But with time, the controversies surrounding their transgressions have largely disappeared after they have returned as supposedly reformed men playing through our initial negative sentiments.
The public gets over it. Winning has been the best and quickest acting salve for the wounds on the image and the aching allegiance of fans.
We didn’t boo or bring up Colorado when Bryant guided the Lakers to an NBA title. New York didn’t spit at A-Rod when his Yankees won the World Series. Philadelphia isn’t throwing batteries after the Eagles traded away longtime quarterback Donovan McNabb, leaving Vick as one of the leading candidates under center.
America didn’t turn off their TVs when Woods bogeyed and eagled his way in another thrilling pursuit toward a green jacket. When Woods wins again, it’s likely that there will be little mention of the parade of strippers with whom he soiled his reputation and injured his marriage.
