2 released in connection with strip club shooting
Associated Press09/29/10 4:15 PM EDT
ATLANTA
— Two men arrested and charged in the shooting death of a DeKalb strip club owner have been released.
An attorney says new evidence surfaced placing Joey Celestin and Bill Nichols at work when 49-year-old Terry Stephenson was killed outside Pin Ups, just east of Decatur.
The DeKalb District Attorney’s Office spokesman told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that the police department dropped the warrants against Celestin and Nichols.
Celestin’s attorney, Mike Jacobs says a new witness says the shooting happened at 1 p.m. That’s the same time Celestin and Nichols punched in at Atlanta Kitchen, where both men work.
He says a dancer who identified Celestin has disappeared.
