Sandy Springs Considers Massage Parlor Regulations
Posted: 1:13 pm EDT July 19, 2011
SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. — Massage parlors and spas in Sandy Springs may be about to get some new regulations.
The Sandy Springs city council is considering an ordinance that requires owners and all employees of the establishments to purchase city work permits. It would restrict the hours when the businesses can operate and the equipment that can be used.
The ordinance says employees and customers should be completely clothed in non-transparent clothing, while the service is being rendered. Businesses can operate between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. and must have at least a 40-watt light in each room or booth. Beds and mattresses are not allowed.
The ordinance is similar to those in other cities and counties across the state.
