Non-licensed spas now need license in Sandy Springs
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Entrepreneurs who choose to open massage parlors or spas in Sandy Springs, specifically ones that are not regulated by the state, will have to dig deeper in their pockets to do so.
The city council is preparing to pass a new ordinance that regulates such establishments, requiring business owners and all employees to purchase city work permits, restricting not only the hours which the business can operate and but the equipment that can be used and even the lighting in the rooms.
The ordinance says employees and customers should be “completely clothed” in “non-transparent” clothing, while the service is being rendered. Businesses can operate between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. and must have at least a 40-watt light in each room or booth. Beds and mattresses are not considered as proper equipment and are not allowed.
