As of now, six incarnations of the Real Housewives franchise have aired. The latest, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, started airing two weeks ago. And with the recent announcement of Real Housewives of Miami, I started to wonder: what makes a good Real Housewives franchise? Is it a matter of wealth? A matter of class? (As if). A matter of breaking into the pop culture lexicon? (Unless youâre a straight Stern student, youâve absolutely heard the phrase Prostitution Whore.)
