The rapper (real name: Juaquin Malphurs) was booked at the Henry County Police Department on a slew of charges — including possession of marijuana and hydrocodone, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and violation of probation for driving on a suspended license.
Waka’s mother, Debra Antney, told TMZ the rapper turned himself in “because he wanted to do the right thing and didn’t want to run.”
His arrest stems from a warrant issued after a raid on his home in Atlanta last month, during which authorities were reportedly investigating a prostitution organization. However, police instead found drugs and guns on the premises.
Antney, who was home at the time of the raid, along with Waka associate Gucci Mane, denied the prostitution allegations. Both of them were detained while police searched the home, but neither were charged and were released.
