Pair accused of enslaving women for prostitution
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Federal authorities in Atlanta said Wednesday two pimps lured five women and one 14-year-old girl into their prostitution “family,” kidnapped them and sold their services in Georgia and neighboring states.
Solomon Manasseh Mustafa, 37, and Kalandra Annette Wallace, 24, recruited the women with ads on Internet sites such as Craigslist and Backpage that invited them to work as prostitutes in a “family-like” atmosphere, according to the 12-count indictment made public Wednesday.
The women soon learned that meant they would be beaten, raped and handcuffed if they resisted selling sex or decided to leave the Mustafa-Wallace family, said First Assistant U.S. Attorney John Horn.
Mustafa prepared at least one of the prostitutes, identified only as “D.V,”  by raping her in a variety of ways, forcing her to snort cocaine and then duct-taping her eyes and wrists and placing her in a closet, the indictment said.
