A Louisiana man accused of transporting two girls last year from Atlanta to Birmingham and back for prostitution brought at least one of the victims to a Motel 6 in the area and advertised the minor online, federal authorities said.
Dmarcus Antwain Ward, 25, of Minden, La., is facing two counts of sex trafficking of minors and two counts of transportation for prostitution. Authorities allege Ward, who is also known as “Boss,” brought two girls from Atlanta to Birmingham and back on separate occasions from late September 2009 through Nov. 7, 2009.
At a bond hearing last week, FBI special agent Nathan Whiteman testified that the minors were ages 16 and 17, said Patrick Crosby, a spokesman for the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Atlanta. Neither of the girls, who are identified by authorities only as A.J. and J.F., are from Birmingham.
