Atlanta Escorts: Law v Prostitution. Again.
Posted on October 6th, 2009 in Atlanta escorts
It seems lately that a lot of people are looking to legitimize prostitution insofar as they want to get out of losing money. Last week we had a guy trying to claim escorts as a tax deduction, and he was a tax lawyer, and this week we have another lawyer filing suit against a prostitute for overbilling. Go on, savor the irony of a lawyer suing someone for overbilling.
Anyway, in this particular case, the lawyer was blind and claimed the woman had overcharged his credit card for almost $9,000, which is a bit of an overcharge if you didn’t get to spend a solid 2 weeks riding each other like show ponies.
Naturally the case isn’t as open and shut as all that. For starters, the woman says she isn’t a prostitute, which kind of puts a damper on things right from the start. She says she’s a Pilates instructor and the reason the lawyer is pissed at her is because she wasn’t interested when he tried to pick her up. By pick her up we mean he grabbed her ass, and she wasn’t a fan.
Because lawyers like to go hard or go home, he’s also suing his credit card company for not doing enough to protect their blind customers, and he may have a point there. Rarely do you ever see informational pamphlets get sent out about how you should use your credit card when confronted by an unscrupulous hooker. How hard would it be to write one, honestly?
As you might expect, this case went absolutely nowhere. The judge tossed it out, both against the credit card company and against the alleged prostitute as, unsurprisingly, most judges aren’t willing to entertain your lawsuit if you’re suing for being defrauded during what is already an illegal act.
