Katy Perry’s “California Dreams” world tour will stop by the 1stBank Center on July 26 as part of its 41-city North American jaunt, which kicks off June 7 in Atlanta. No one is expecting subtlety or artfulness from Perry, who has made her name on shiny, catchy pop hooks and cleavage-bearing outfits straight out of a cartoonish neon brothel. Still, we’re fascinated to see how her stage show plays with diverse, spectacle-hungry audiences around the country. Check back here or heyreverb.com for on-sale dates and prices.
Robert Plant has been a recent fixture on the folk scene thanks to his Grammy-winning 2007 album, “Raising Cain,” with bluegrass queen Alison Krauss. The Led Zeppelin singer’s latest stylistic reinvention is Band of Joy, which features heavy hitters Patty Griffin, Buddy Miller and others on an album that covers artists as diverse as Richard & Linda Thompson, Los Lobos and slow-core indie trio Low. The band plays the Fillmore Auditorium on April 27 in support of its eponymous debut. Tickets are on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday. ($69, livenation.com)
