ATLANTA — An Atlanta man accused of pimping a 14-year-old girl pleaded guilty Thursday and was sentenced to 30 years in prison.
Fulton County District Attorney Paul L. Howard, Jr. said the case against Kenton Ballard, 32, dates back to 2005 when he met the 14-year old runaway on Metropolitan Avenue in Atlanta.
Howard said the teen moved in with Ballard and that he immediately began having sex with the girl. Within a month of meeting her, Howard said Ballard began to beat and pistol-whip the girl on a consistent basis and eventually began to prostitute her.
At times, Howard said Ballard would send the girl out to solicit men on Metropolitan Avenue, in addition to bringing clients to their home.

In addition pimping, Ballard faces several other charges including statutory rape, aggravated child molestation, aggravated assault, pandering and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
