Atlanta Escorts: Fighting Prostitution with Telephones

The war on sex just got personal. Or technical. Or something. Whatever it is, it’s an effort to try to stop escorts from doing their job by cutting them off at the knees, the knees in this case being their mouths, severing their line of communication and thereby cutting them off from potential clients.

Apparently phone booths in the UK are just lousy with escort business cards, which we assume they get printed for a decent rate down at Kinkos. And sure, it’s illegal to place the cards in phone booths but with the exception of Dr. Who occasionally stumbling on the girls and apprehending them, by and large the Brit cops are too busy with bangers and mash infractions to try to stop that sort of thing from happening.

If you took law in school, you may recognize this as what legal scholars call “putting the cart before the horse” and what laymen refer to as “bullshit.” Basically it’s to assume a crime is going to happen, and arguably it’s a reasonable assumption in the circumstances, but then sever an unrelated business contract as a preventative measure because of it.
