Atlanta Escorts: Cross Promoting Soccer and Prostitution

Posted on December 28th, 2009 in Atlanta escorts

In North America, we just don’t get soccer. It’s not really our thing. Well, it is in Mexico, but in the US soccer has never caught on the way it has throughout most of the rest of the world and probably that’s for the best. People die at soccer games, for God’s sake. Remember that if someone from another country ever talks smack about you being American – at least fans don’t riot and kill each other at baseball games in Texas.

Anyway, because soccer is so huge, it seems reasonable that some people out there are going to try to work soccer in wherever they can find room for it to make a quick buck. And what do people potentially like more than soccer? Sex. Dirty sex.

Enter the industrious and intrepid peoples of South Africa who saw a handful of unrelated items and meshed them all together in one awesome package. The items? Soccer, condoms and a massive HIV epidemic. How do they work together? Brand condoms with soccer logos thus promoting safer sex amongst the high prostitution population whilst attempting to limit the spread of the deadly disease that runs rampant in the country. Brilliant! Right?

The idea is to brand the condoms for 2010’s World Cup, which the internet tells us is a big deal in the world of soccer. Lobbyists who work with prostitutes in Africa feel it will help promote their use when the 45,000 or so visitors come to South Africa for the games. Since South Africa has the largest population of people living with HIV, 5.2 million people, it stands to reason trying to limit the infection is a good idea. It also stands to reason you should never, ever have sex with anyone in South Africa, but that’s neither here nor there.

Some people are calling the idea crazy and apparently don’t think associating the World Cup with sex or prostitution is a good idea.
