Couples Sex Trafficking Case Goes To Court
ATLANTA — A Georgia man made his first appearance in federal court Wednesday on charges related to a sex trafficking ring prosecutors say he operated out of the Atlanta area.
Prosecutors said that 37-year-old Soloman Manasseh Mustafa, of Stone Mountain, and 24-year-old Kalandra Annette Wallace, of Jonesboro, used websites like Craigslist and Backpage to recruit young women to force them into prostitution. They were indicted by a grand jury last week.
Mstafa also faces charges of child pornography and attempting to have sex with a minor.
Mustafa pleaded not guilty Wednesday. An initial court appearance has not been scheduled for Wallace.
Prosecutors said the men physically assaulted the young women, held the women against their will and forced them to perform sex acts.
