Atlanta Escorts: Atlanta’s Blighted Problem
Posted on November 22nd, 2011 in Atlanta escorts
Over the last 3 years, Wishing Well Apartments in South Atlanta became a magnet for crime and waste. Today, the city took a Caterpillar excavator to the 41 year old complex to start a two-month $180,000 demolition of the buildings. Nearby residents say it’s taken too long. City officials say the wait indicates a wider problem.
Stacey Hopkins lived near the complex in the mid to late 1990s. The home maker has mixed memories.
“This used to be a great community,” said Hopkins. “So to see it, it’s like watching a piece of fruit rot on your counter.”
Wishing Well started to turn about three years ago. Older long term residents moved out and dumped discarded tires, prostitution and drugs moved in. eBay seller Katie Corkran got her first impression from her nearby apartment complex about two years ago.
