“It forced people to focus on the neighborhood,” said Gordon.
Gordon had an idea to reduce crime in the area. That idea grew through a partnership with Lindsey Street Baptist Church, who owned the land.
“Here they are living right in the midst of one of the challenged communities, as it relates to just about anything you can name, drugs, prostitution, all the rest,” said Rev. Anthony Motley.
