Sometimes the news wows you in ways you never thought possible. Usually when you read news about prostitution and you see “13 year old” somewhere in the headline, you’re about to read an awful story of child abuse and exploitation. This time, however, it’s a totally different kind of awful story. This wasn’t a 13 year old victim forced to do anything no 13 year old should do, this was a kid trying to pick up an undercover vice officer.

Birmingham Alabama can be proud of itself today as news came out that a 13 year old began asking undercover LE for sex during a sting operation. The cop apparently tried to get the kid to leave but this must have been one horny little bugger and he wouldn’t leave her alone until she was forced to arrest him because nothing else worked.

The boy was charged with a misdemeanor count of loitering while looking for a prostitute, which seems lenient but hey, he’s 13. Best to leave John school for when he hits 14. You have to wonder though exactly what he said to the cop and how intensely her mind was blown when she realized a 13 year old was trying to pay for some ass.

The sting was apparently set up because people in the neighborhood had filed numerous complaints about prostitution in the area. And you’d think if 13 year olds are out trying to pick up then maybe the people in the neighborhood are on to something.

This does make one wonder about what a vice cop, or even an actual prostitute on the street, have to put up with that the rest of us don’t get to hear about all that often. The concept of a 13 year old soliciting a prostitute isn’t one that readily comes to mind, so just what the hell else is going on out there? For now, we can only guess. But here’s some possibilities that can’t be any worse than an 8th grader looking for some pay for play.
