ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -
In response to a recent surge in crime in Atlanta’s Zone 4, the Atlanta Police Department is joining other law enforcement agencies to saturate the area with heavy manpower.
The project is called ”Operation Zone 4,” and officers from the department’s Narcotics, Vice, Fugitive, Community Liaison, APEX and Auto Theft Task Force units are assisting.
The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office and Atlanta’s Department of Corrections will also be involved.
Officers will have an increased presence in Zone 4 for the next two weekends in response to the recent burglaries, drug sales, prostitution and other crimes.
