Nation Digest: Maid sues New York Post for libel
The hotel maid at the center of the now-teetering sex assault case against ex-IMF head Dominique Strauss-Kahn filed a libel lawsuit Tuesday against the New York Post after the tabloid reported she was a prostitute.
Cheating uncovered in Atlanta schools — Georgia investigators have found evidence of cheating at close to 80 percent of the Atlanta schools where they examined the 2009 administration of state tests. More than 80 educators have confessed to misconduct, and investigators said the cheating dated to at least 2001.
Forced medication ended — Jared Lee Loughner, the man accused of shooting Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, D-Ariz., can’t be forced to take antipsychotic drugs until the government shows that the drugs are necessary and likely to render him competent to stand trial, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled.
