A 30-year-old Austell man was sentenced to more than 17 years in federal prison Monday for sex trafficking of a minor, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced.
Chesire Martinez Robinson, also known as “Candyman,” was convicted Sept. 14 of conspiracy to engage in, and the commission of, sex trafficking of a minor and transporting a minor in interstate commerce for prostitution, the news release said.
“For nearly two months, this predator sexually exploited a 16-year-old girl for his financial gain,” United States Attorney Sally Quillian Yates said.
According to authorities, Robinson, a convicted felon, brought the teen from her South Carolina home to the Atlanta area to engage in prostitution at hotels and truck stops in 2009. He used photos of the teen for online ads to attract clients, officials said.
