Ala. man charged with soliciting sex with Ga. teen

DOTHAN, Ala. (AP) – An Abbeville man is charged with trying have sex with a teenage girl after meeting her on Facebook.
The Dothan Eagle reports (http://bit.ly/rqqyML ) that 25-year-old Duran Chavez Slaton was arrested Nov. 30 on charges of electronic solicitation of a child and possession of child pornography. Authorities say Slaton and the teen exchanged naked photos and he tried to convince her to travel to Abbeville to have sex.
Authorities say they found two nude photos of a 15-year-old Quitman County, Ga., girl on Slaton’s cell phone. It was not clear if the photos were the same teen that Slaton met on Facebook.
Slaton is in the Henry County Jail on $90,000 bail. He likely also will face charges in Georgia.
