Austell man gets 17 years in federal prison for child sex trafficking
AUSTELL — An Austell man was sentenced to 17 years in federal prison on Monday for sex trafficking of a mi-nor and related charges.
Prosecutors said that in 2009, convicted felon Chesire Martinez Robinson, 30, also known as “Candyman,” brought a 16-year-old girl from her home in South Carolina to the Atlanta area to prostitute her, earning $14,000 from her commercial sex acts in just eight weeks.
On Monday, Robinson was sentenced to 17 years and five months in federal prison, to be followed by five years of supervised release. He was also ordered to pay restitution of $14,440, and to register as a sex offender. He was convicted of the charges on Sept. 14, 2011, after a three-day jury trial.
