Atlanta Police Arrest Dozens In Prostitution Sting

ATLANTA — People in Midtown complained to police that drug dealers and prostitutes worked day and night — right in front of their homes.

The sting spanned two weeks in mid-May, and during the six days of operation, 79 suspects were arrested on a variety of charges that included prostitution and drug sales. Atlanta police also impounded seven vehicles and sized $1,000 in cash.

“We get a lot of complaints by the citizens all around the city about prostitution,” said Kreher. “Zone 5 is no exception.”

The sting won’t be the last in APD’s efforts to contain prostitution and drug-dealing within Midtown. Officers told CBS Atlanta they will continue working all summer long with any vice-related problems.
