50 Men Arrested In Prostitution Sting In Midtown Atlanta

ATLANTA — Atlanta police said they arrested 50 male prostitutes as part of a six-day prostitution and narcotics sting in midtown called Operation Summer Heat.
Many of the arrests were made in the Peachtree/Cypress Street area and Ponce de Leon corridors.
Channel 2 Action News cameras were rolling as officers from the Police Departments undercover Vice and APEX units teamed up for the operation.
Weve received many complaints about hustling and prostitution in these corridors, Atlanta Police Chief George Turner said. In addition to the 50 male prostitutes, police said they also arrested 11 female prostitutes, eight johns, five people on marijuana-related charges and five people on cocaine charges.
